So you’ve decided to get Invisalign for your teeth. Congratulations! You’re one step closer to having straighter, healthier teeth and a more confident smile. Now that you’re ready to take the next steps, we’ll walk you through the Invisalign process at Clover—from how Invisalign works to what to expect with your office visits. Hopefully we’ll be able to answer some of your most pressing questions or concerns.

Why Get Your Invisalign at Clover?

Let’s face it: a routine trip to the dentist, while necessary, isn’t always a pleasant experience. All the more if you’re getting Invisalign.

Invisalign is a complex treatment that requires careful programming by an expert orthodontist to ensure optimal results. This is where Clover wants to make a difference. Our team is not only composed of some of the most experienced and renowned orthodontists in LA, we’re also the biggest provider of Invisalign in the area. And with our zen-inspired West Hollywood space and a more personalized approach to orthodontic care, we’re here to make your Invisalign journey a more streamlined and convenient experience.

The Invisalign Process at Clover

Step 1: Meet Your Team

Duration: About 40 minutes

When you arrive at our studio for your first consultation, you’ll be greeted by a concierge, who will check you in and guide you through everything you need to know about your appointment. Our concierge will also give you a quick tour of our wellness space, which had been thoughtfully designed to give you a sense of calm and comfort.

You’ll find our office bright and airy, accented by natural wood and luxuriously scented with custom candles from Ex Nihilo, our next-door neighbor. You’ll find comfort in our ultra-soft, memory foam-filled leather chairs. And you’ll love our Brush Bar, where you’ll find some of the finest oral care products you’ll need to freshen up.

As soon as you’re comfortable, you’ll meet with our clinical technician for a digital scan. We use digital imaging technology to make an impression of your mouth. This technology allows us to get a more accurate mold of your teeth, which is then transmitted to the Invisalign lab for initial processing.

Then, it’s time to meet your orthodontist and treatment coordinator to come up with an Invisalign plan that’s customized just for you and answer any questions you may have. Your treatment coordinator will also walk you through your payment options as well as go over the next steps. Once you’re out of the office, our orthodontists will get to work creating a customized digital plan to guide your teeth and jaws into their ideal position.

Step 2: Receive Your Trays

When: 3-4weeks after first consultation
Duration: About 40 minutes

The next step in the Invisalign process is fitting your initial trays.

This is also the time that attachments will be added to your teeth. Invisalign attachments are tiny, tooth-colored buttons that are almost invisible, painless to attach, and temporary. They help hold aligners and move your teeth in the right direction. They’re removed after your treatment and cause no damage to your teeth. We’ll also give you a thorough presentation about what to expect during your treatment and our top recommendations to ensure optimal success in your aligner journey. At Clover, we program your trays so that you switch into a new tray each week, ensuring optimum comfort and esthetics.

Step 3: Your In-Office Visits

When: As needed, or halfway through your treatment
Duration: Quick virtual visits or 15 minute in-person appointments

Throughout your Invisalign journey, care can be done either virtually or in person and as often as you please, depending on your schedule and personal preference. Your teeth’s movements are carefully pre-programmed into your trays, so we have the ability to personalize your care and tailor your appointments to fit your lifestyle.

If you’re on-the-go and prefer optimum convenience, we’ll sign you up for virtual care so that we can remotely track your progress. For more complex cases or for patients who prefer to be seen in person, your appointments will likely be spaced out by approximately 12 weeks.

For best results, we’ll ask you to come for an in-person visit about halfway through your treatment to get your progress scan. At this visit, we’ll take a new scan of your teeth, analyze their movements, and refine your treatment plan as needed. This is critical since everyone’s teeth move at different rates and in different ways.

We’ll also check to ensure your trays are fitting properly and may do some polishing between the teeth to help with alignment.

Step 4: After Your Treatment

When: 6-12 months

Invisalign treatment usually takes 10 to 12 months, but some cases can be done in as few as 6 months.

Once your treatment is complete and your bite is balanced, we’ll remove all of the attachments and deliver your retainers. Your retainers will look similar to your Invisalign trays, but more durable. To get the best results, you’ll need to wear your retainers full time for another 3 months, and then just every night thereafter.

And there you have it—a simpler, more pleasant, and more convenient way to get straighter teeth and a beautiful smile. Come visit us at Clover to get started!

Nicole asks

I am debating teeth aligner “self-service” vs. coming into an office. Can you share the benefits of coming to your office?
