Adulting with Clover’s Invisalign

Did you know that when we smile more, we feel better? That’s not an anecdote either – it’s a fact proven by science. Great news for those of us who feel good about how our teeth look, but what about those who don’t? The answer is surprisingly complex and touches on some compelling reasons to seek care – both aesthetically and for a cluster of very important wellness outcomes.

But first, let’s talk about the concerns that most people have in seeking Invisalign when they’re well into adulthood.

Invisalign For Adults Over 30, 40, 50 & Beyond

When we think about straightening our teeth, the first thing that comes to mind is looking better. Our genetics, early childhood habits, accidents, and even previous orthodontics can all affect how our teeth position by adulthood. And if we didn’t seek orthodontic care in adolescence, or got too lax with retainer maintenance after treatment, it can easily feel like it’s too late to treat. Who wants a metal mouth at the office? No thanks.

Interestingly, it’s often the lifestyle questions that prevent adults from seeking care – and we get it. By adulthood we feel pretty set in our ways and the idea of taking upwards of a year to straighten our teeth, especially with traditional braces, is not pretty.

So let’s demystify some of the most common concerns right here, right now.

Will Invisalign Work In Severe Cases?

We regularly hear that many adults assume their orthodontic needs are too complicated for Invisalign. It is true that by adulthood our bones have finished growing, and while no longer as malleable as they were in childhood, we can still greatly improve position and bite no matter what age you are. But the most awesome news is, Clover’s Invisalign system works in complex and severe adult cases – and just as effectively as traditional metal braces. This includes cases of bone loss, existing crowns and implants, and even impaction. With appropriate collaboration with other dental specialists, we are able to treat even the most complex cases.

Once we do a digital scan of your mouth, our expert orthodontists methodically create a personalized treatment plan for you that will effectively and safely move your teeth into the optimal position to give you the best bite and smile possible.

Can I Eat And Drink With Clover’s Invisalign?

In a word, yes! You can absolutely eat and drink while straightening your teeth with Invisalign. So chew that gum, eat that popcorn, drink your (insert your fave beverage here). Just remember that if you’re going to have anything other than cold or room temperature water, we want you to take your Invisalign trays out before you do. Then just floss and brush, and give a quick rinse to your trays before you pop them back in.

The only thing we ask is that if you get Invisalign attachments, you’ll need to take care with anything excessively hard or chewy. Use your best judgment but keep living your best life. It’s that simple. No restrictions, no problem.

Is Invisalign More Convenient Than Braces?

Because Invisalign doesn’t require any change to your diet or lifestyle to still achieve beautiful results within the same amount of time relative to traditional braces, we can confidently say that it is the most convenient option for teeth straightening. In fact, Clover’s Invisalign process is actually easier for you because your straightening kit will contain all the trays you’ll need over the course of your treatment. So you won’t need to take valuable time out of your day to come in as often as you would with metal braces.

And at Clover, you can even check in with us virtually if that’s better for you. Less time in the car, less money at the pump, more of what you need and love to do.

Clover kids who we treat with Invisalign have such an incredible and easy experience compared to those who get expanders and braces. Give your kiddo the gift of comfort and great results without all the stress and tears.
